A Hime Cut (translated to Princes Cut) is a hairstyle that consists of blunt bangs and cheek or chin-length blunt sidelocks. Haircuts with a Hime Cut are typically kept straight, but the hair other than the bangs and sidelocks are sometimes curled. If hair with a Hime Cut is worn in a hairstyle such as pigtails or braids, the sidelocks are almost always kept straight and out of the hairdo to cover the ears.
The Hime Cut is not a Lolita exclusive hair style, and is often found in traditional Japanese styles. It is generally considered to have come out of the Heian period, when women would often grow thier hair out, long and flowing, throughout their lives.
